Orbis Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is an international, peer reviewed, open access journal publishing scholarly work across medicine, biomedical sciences, healthcare, and the health sciences.
The journal aims to facilitate the responsible dissemination of research that advances scientific understanding, informs clinical practice, improves healthcare delivery, addresses important questions in human health, or contributes to the development of emerging areas of medical and biomedical inquiry.
Orbis JMHS provides a multidisciplinary forum for researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, educators, scientists, and scholars working across the continuum of basic science, translational investigation, clinical medicine, population health, healthcare delivery, and applied health research.
The journal is committed to accessible scholarly communication while maintaining standards of scientific integrity, methodological rigor, ethical research conduct, independent peer review, transparency, and responsible editorial practice.
By maintaining a broad international scope, the journal seeks to encourage scholarly exchange across specialties, disciplines, institutions, healthcare systems, and geographic regions.

The scope of Orbis Journal of Medical and Health Sciences intentionally extends across the full spectrum of medicine, biomedical science, healthcare, and human health.
The journal considers basic, translational, clinical, epidemiological, population based, educational, health services, technological, interdisciplinary, and applied research relevant to medicine or the health sciences.
Submissions may originate from any medical specialty, biomedical discipline, health profession, healthcare setting, or area of scientific inquiry with meaningful relevance to medicine, healthcare, or human health.
Orbis JMHS particularly welcomes research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries, connects scientific discovery with clinical or healthcare applications, evaluates evolving approaches to patient care, or investigates emerging scientific and technological developments relevant to health.
The journal recognizes that important medical and health research does not always fit neatly within a single specialty or established disciplinary category. Accordingly, the areas identified on this page are illustrative rather than restrictive.
A submission may be considered within scope when it makes a meaningful scholarly contribution to medicine, biomedical science, healthcare, the health sciences, or the understanding and improvement of human health.

Orbis JMHS considers a range of scholarly article types appropriate to medicine and the health sciences.
These include original research articles, systematic reviews and meta analyses, scoping reviews, narrative reviews, case reports, case series, clinical audits and quality improvement studies, brief reports, perspectives and viewpoints, clinical images, letters to the editor, and other scholarly formats considered appropriate by the editorial team.
Appropriate reporting standards and manuscript requirements vary according to article type and study design. Authors should consult the journal's Author Guidelines before submission.

Medical and health sciences research continually evolves, and the journal's scope is intentionally designed to accommodate scientifically relevant developments that extend beyond established categories.
Novel technologies, interdisciplinary methods, emerging specialties, new models of healthcare delivery, evolving diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and research questions that bridge established fields may all fall within the journal's scope.
Authors should therefore not interpret the absence of a specific specialty, methodology, or topic from the areas listed above as an indication that their work is outside the journal's scope.
Where the relevance of a manuscript is not immediately apparent from a traditional disciplinary category, the editorial team may consider its broader scientific, clinical, healthcare, or human health significance when determining suitability for the journal.

The journal's multidisciplinary scope is intended to support scientific breadth while maintaining appropriate scholarly standards. Inclusion of a subject within the journal's scope does not guarantee acceptance for publication.
Manuscripts may be assessed for relevance to the journal, originality, scientific or scholarly contribution, methodological appropriateness, clarity of reporting, ethical compliance, research integrity, and overall suitability for publication.
Submissions considered appropriate for further evaluation may proceed to independent peer review in accordance with the journal's editorial procedures. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript as a whole rather than on subject area alone.
The editorial team retains reasonable flexibility when evaluating innovative, interdisciplinary, emerging, or otherwise atypical scholarly work that contributes meaningfully to medicine, healthcare, biomedical science, or human health.
Maintaining relevance and scholarly integrity.
Manuscripts without a meaningful connection to medicine, biomedical science, healthcare, the health sciences, or human health may fall outside the journal's editorial scope.
Submissions may also be unsuitable for consideration when they lack sufficient scholarly or scientific substance, do not adequately support their conclusions, fail to meet applicable ethical requirements, or otherwise do not meet the journal's editorial and publication standards.
